Redfield Road Revisited

Further down Redfield Road
west by south as the gull flies
wake of the flood by deep
blue bays of wetland grass
in setting suns burnt orange
fields crying my name, oh
immaculate youth revisited

Reconsidered visions a city
skyline long gone life is but
a purgatorial state before
the call from Heaven’s Gate
or becoming void an empty
form of God particles, super
strings where angels sing

And love comes on the wings
of a dove in purple haze as
yesterdays come to pass we
remain tied to the mast and
hoist the main sail passed
Tennyson’s Bar going down
Redfield Roads of future past
