Midnight in the Land of Enchantment

Some enchanted evening
across a lazy river above
and beyond heartlands so
romantic under expansive

Skies and strings an open
umbrella of southwest seas
a place so peaceful so it
seemed to lay me down

On beds of stone so surreal
as if a pillow under my head
stars skimming by carrying my
soul far past the eleventh hour

No need for flower power this
was the real thing in mine eye
so high to kiss purple majesty
sky light oh, serious moonlight

Suddenly sleepy visions appear
on the vista of mind a peaceful
warrior dropped in to reveal the
holy well of life to sing me back

To make a joyful noise down in
the valley so low of angels in
heaven and there was no return
from crystal scenes seldom seen

Once in a lifetime oh, innervisions
of sandstone dreams from twilight
until dawn in a desert of epiphanies
midnight in the land of enchantment
