Stranded on the golden road
to unlimited devotion wishing
to be writing something good
as the ancients desert fathers
sages speaking in tongues
throwing down rhymes stranded
on the desert highway mirages
further on up the road of girls
in flowing paisley prints bare
footing it all as wallflowers
think thoughts so sublime that
cannot be spoken hoping to find
a way to stop the time to get
back to the penny candy store
of mind where everyone has heart
