Sirens of the Sea

Sirens of the sea wailing
across the bay sailing above
the sky leading the way to
heaven’s gate before it’s too
late to get back to where we
once belonged singing a new
song in a minor key in harmony
with choirs of beat angels or
super strings connecting you
and me, oh, sweet mystery of
life the struggle, the strife,
when all is lost or so it seems
then suddenly the Cowboy Angel
appears on the scene as if in a
dream like a prophet of days of
future past saying forgiveness
is the key while passing the sand
bar of fate beyond the last jetty
the tempest carries you to sea
